Steingraeber & Söhne

Each Steingraeber & Söhne piano is constructed in the majestic tradition of handcrafted piano building. The company is based in Bayreuth and manufactures its pianos since 1852. Udo Schmidt-Steingraeber is a keeping up with progress piano maker: he develops himself his instruments and its computer programmes, in collaboration with universities and with his experienced technicians.


Steingraeber pianos are very innovative: they have the Phoenix system of patented bridge agraffes for efficient energy transmission, SFM action based on magnetic operation of the escapement for upright pianos, carbon fiber soundboards…Only the best woods and materials (felt, natural glues…) are used to make these pianos where each detail is fully handcrafted; all this results in a piano with exceptional qualities, allowing musicians to fully express their musical desires. 3 models of upright pianos are prosposed (122,130,138) and 5 grand piano models (A-170, B-192, C-212, D-232, E-272).

Michaël Grailet is the only piano dealer in Wallonia and the only technician approved by Steingraeber & Söhne (See Services). He proposes a wide range of models and will be pleased to inform you about these pianos and the factory.
