Steingraeber & Söhne D-232

Available colors :

The D-232, a ¾ concert grand piano, was introduced as the sibling of the E-272—and the resemblance is clear, especially regarding the rim design: the sound reflection zones and the symmetrically shaped, precisely adjusted soundboard contribute to a particularly melodious tone and a wide dynamic range, from the softest pppp to the powerful ffff.

This ¾ concert grand is ideal for piano and chamber music recitals in medium-sized venues. One of the most prestigious locations where it can currently be found is Bagsværd Church in Copenhagen, a landmark of 20th-century architectural history. The architect, Jørn Utzon, also designed the Sydney Opera House and the furniture design of a D-232. Architect Jan Utzon created a draft of his father Jørn’s design in the Steingraeber workshops.

The D-232 can also be found in other prestigious locations such as conservatories in Brno, Dresden, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Cologne, Munich, Vienna, and even Stockholm.
